special needs unit
a true gem within our institution
Our Special Needs Unit is a true gem within our institution that fills us with immense pride. This unique division has a separate fee structure. It is staffed by specially trained professionals, allowing us to provide exceptional services tailored to learners living with Autism and other Neurodevelopmental Disorders.
Our Special Needs Unit is carefully divided into two sections designed to cater to each student’s specific needs and readiness.
On one side, we offer a specialised curriculum for young, preverbal children, providing them with a nurturing environment to thrive.
On the other side, we have a dedicated class for students ready to take on curriculum work as part of the next exciting challenge in their educational journey.
What sets our unit apart is our holistic approach, combining Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) elements with a robust focus on developing social skills and fostering independence. This powerful blend empowers us to achieve remarkable outcomes in various facets of the children’s development and functional performance.
Furthermore, we create a genuinely inclusive educational environment by integrating this specialised unit into our mainstream school, which remains our primary focus. This approach allows our students in the Special Needs Unit to interact with neurotypical peers and engage in mainstream classes where appropriate, promoting understanding and empathy among all learners. We firmly believe in teaching our students the valuable life skill of embracing and appreciating individuals from diverse backgrounds and walks of life.
At our Special Needs Unit, we are dedicated to nurturing the unique potential of every child, regardless of their developmental challenges. Join us on this inspiring journey of growth, learning,
and inclusivity as we continue to positively impact the lives of these remarkable individuals.
This unique division has a separate fee structure, owing to the very low ratio of learners to educators, as each learner would have a individualised educational program and we work in a group of three to four learners to an educator and assistant.
